How do I Drain an Intex Easy Set Pool?

Intex Easy Set Pool

An easy way to drain an Intex Easy Set Pool is to take a garden hose and disconnect it from the tap. Remove the cap from the drain valve on the outside of the pool wall.

Attach the female end of the hose to hose valve. Place the end of the hose in an area where the water can be safely drained. A lower point then the pool water level like down a hill would be best if possible.

Remove the drain plug on the inside of the pool. Water will start to drain immediately.

If you still have water left in the pool because the water is below the drain valve, you may have to use a sump pump or a shop vac to remove the remaining water.

Disconnect hose adapter when finished. Replace drain plug on the inside of pool for storage. Replace drain cap on outside of pool.

Be sure pool liner is completely clean and dry before long-term storage.  You can also sprinkle the inside of the pool with baby powder to add a nice smell and get rid of the last bit of moisture if you are planning on storing your pool for the winter.

Storing Your Intex Easy Set Pool

Store the pool in a garage or some place out of the cold and the snow. If you are careful with the take down, storage, and re-assembly your pool should last many years, probably longer than if you left it up year round.

If you are draining your Intex Easy Set Pool because it was lopsided, make sure you level the ground completely before you refill your Intex Easy Set Pool or you will have the same problem again.

How Long Should I Run an Intex Filter Pump?

Intex Filter Pump

Intex Filter Pump

It is important to run your Intex Filter Pump long enough to allow the entire contents of the pool to run through the filter once each day. This will help to insure that you have clean and sanitary pool water.  Depending on your personal circumstances, such as heavy pool use, type of water and weather, you may have to run your filter for a longer period of time each day. However, you should not run the filter longer than 8 hours per day.

If you don’t allow all your pool water to be filtered daily you may run into water quality problems down the road. What you are saving in electricity by running the Intex Filter Pump for less time, will cost you much more in chemicals if you have to treat a problem. It will not save you money in the long run.  It may even end up costing you more because pool chemicals are expensive. Not to mention the time it takes to possibly empty, clean, and refill the pool.

To figure out how long to run your pump, look at the instructions that came with your pool.  The instructions should tell your how many gallons of water your pool holds and also how many GPM or Gallons Per Minute that go through your pump.  Take the number of gallons your pool holds and divide it by the Gallons Per Minute that go through your pump.  This will give you total minutes.  Divide the total minutes by 60 and this will give you’re the number of hours necessary to run the entire contents of your pool through your filter one time.

Your Intex Pool Filter should be put on a timer to allow it to be turned on and off automatically.  This will also insure that your filter is running for the proper amount of time each day. If you want a clean and sparkling pool for your family to enjoy then make sure you run your Intex Pool Filter for the correct amount of time each day.
